The new DUNLOP DZ87R rally tyre has won on its first outing, both in Australia and New Zealand.

Congratulations to Warren Lee and David Lethlean, winning heat 1 and coming second in heat 2, George Derrick Memorial Rally March 31st. At the end of the event, after 8 stages, Wal and Shermo were only 22 seconds down to reigning Australian Champion Justin Dowell in his championship Evo.

The Dynamic Duo went into the event with the new DUNLOP DZ87R untested, having previously been victorious with its predecessor, the DZ86R.

"The tyres had fantastic grip, and I had a great feeling of confidence in them. They also had great turn-in and good high speed stability" said the gushing 'Wal" Lee.

In winning heat 1 Wal and Shermo beat both fancied ARC competitors, Justin Dowell and Stephen Raymond.

Coincidentally, the new DUNLOP DZ87R also won the first round of the New Zealand rally Championship, held at Whangarei the same weekend.
