The new Dunlop Direzza Sport Z1 tyre is winning support amongst car enthusiasts.

Following is a progress report on 4 tyres originally fitted late 2010:

"It is 14 months since the Direzza’s were fitted to my 370Z and the car has covered 20,000klms of easy road driving and completed 4 track days (1 at PI, 2 at Sandown and 1 at Mallala).
Tread depth is a little under 5mm, which suggests the tyres are around half worn. 
The last track day at Sandown on 15th Sept resulted in consistent (over 8-10 laps) 1m 28s lap-times and one the tyres were hot, they had heaps of grip under brakes, cornering and acceleration.
I have to say that these tyres represent very good all-round value from tyre life perspective (especially in light of having also completed perhaps 100+ laps of club sprint/track day use – and based on the lap times – I am not hanging about), grip and predictability.  Clearly, they are not up to the capability of a true R-spec, but they are an excellent compromise.
Count me as a happy camper !!
