Winners Geoff Portman and Ross Runnalls

Geoff Portman and Ross Runnalls have won the 2011 Alpine Rally, held around Lakes Entrance in Gippsland Victoria.

The pair drove their new Ford Escort RS1800 to a convincing victory of nearly three minutes, ably supported by the team at Grant Walker Parts.

Using a mixture of tyres to handle the changeable wet and dry conditions over the three days, the duo led the event strongle from the second special stage.

Second was Mike Batten's Datsun 1600, ably punted by the considerably younger team of Paul Batten and Glen Raymond.

Former ARC hero, Wayne Hoy, was third in another Datsun 1600, navigated by lisa Dunkerton.

All 3 top teams, and 7 of the top ten used the famous DUNLOP rally tyres.
