Kevin Weeks and Toni Feaver in their 1974 Porsche 911 Carrera RS

South Australian Kevin Weeks and Toni Feaver have won the Supaloc Classic Targa Adelaide, taking their 1974 Porsche 911 Carrera RS to an outright win. Weeks won the Shannon’s Classic Outright competition, securing top points in the opening round of the four-event CAMS Australian Targa Championship. Kevin was also the fastest in the field, beating reigning Targa Tasmania titleholder, Tony
Quinn in a 1990 Nissan Skyline GT-R. Quinn and Weeks fought closely over the three days of the event.
This now makes four wins in the event for Kevin Weeks (2007, 8, 9, 11), tying him with Victorian Rex Broadbent who won in a similar Porsche in 2003, 4, 5 and 6. Whilst this is a new event, it is a reincarnation of the original Classic Adelaide.
Both Classic Adelaide champions, Weeks and Broadbent, used the dominant DUNLOP DZ03G tyres, now regarded as de rigueur for tarmac rallying.
Special mention in the event must go to Peter Mayer and Patricia Melzer who won the Regularity category in their 2007 Porsche Cayman S. Peter used the new DUNLOP DIREZZA SPORT Z1 tyre, a high performance ‘Non R-Spec’ tyre, beating home competitors using full R-Spec tyres.
