Mitsubishi EVO X of Salmon, Longhurst and White

Rod Salmon, Tony Longhurst and Damien White have won the 2009 WPS Bathurst 12 Hour aboard their SKWIRK.com Mitsubishi EVO X.

The WA Team of Glen Crimp, Tony Ricciardello and Stuart Kostera came in second outright in a similar Mitsubishi EVO X.

Both leading cars used the DUNLOP DZ03G, as in last year's race.

This tyre, made famous for its domination of tarmac rallying, has now established an even stronger reputation for circuit racing. In fact the DUNLOP DZ03G tyre was the most popular choice of all cars in the epic race, being chosen by 50% of competitors.

In all, 4 of the top 5 cars used the dominant rubber, including Wall, Wall & Symonds, 4th in their Mitsubishi and Morcom, Searle & Stubber, 5th in their BMW.

Of the 48 cars starting the race, 24 (50%) were on DUNLOP tyres (Bridgestone 21%, Yokohama 17%, Michelin 4%, Kumho 6%, Pirelli 2%).
