News & Info » Nov-2008 Dunlop, King of the Mountain

It was a hard fought battle for the 2008 Mt. Buller Sprint.

George Miedecke and Daniel Willson took the spoils, as rookies, in their Rick Schultz CERO SPORT EVO-9 from Tony Longhurst and Jahmeil Taylor running the Castrol Edge sponsored STi.

Seen on the left is Tony breasting the summit on his way to second place.

Both first and second placed cars used the now famous DUNLOP DZ03G tyres.

Third place and a huge crowd favourite was Adelaide's Kevin Week and Bec Crunkhorn with the mega Lamborghini Gallardo Superlegaro tarmac racer.

In fourth place were Clark Quinn and Toni Feaver in another Evo9 and in fifth were Matt Close and Cameron Reeves in the first Porsche. Both these two cars also used the DUNLOP DZ03G tyres.

Further down the field, this little Fiat Punto showed that it was more than capable of putting to shame many 4WD rally cars on this tough course. First Diesel home and 38th outright! Changing to DUNLOP tyres piched up an improvement of 10 seconds on the first run. For more details of this hot number go to http://bitsofitaly.com/

In all, 8 of the top 10 cars used DUNLOP tyres, as did 58% of the entire field (12% Bridgestone, 11% Toyo, 10% Kumho, 5% Yokohama).
