Targa West 2008 has been won by Steven Jones and Ruari Souter-Dawson in their new Nissan GTR.

Steve has become the youngest competitor to win Targa West, taking the honours in the Competition Modern class ahead of Jim Richards (Porsche 911 GT2) and Kevin Weeks (Lamborghini Superleggera).

Steve used the Dunlop SP Supersport Race tyre on his GTR. This tyre has been used competitively in Australia in recent years in 17", 18" and 19" sizes, but this is the first time that it has been available in 20".

In 4th place were Troy Wilson and Nicholas Box in a Mitsubishi Lancer Evo7, also on Dunlop rubber, as were 8th, 9th and 10th.

In all, 6 of the top 10 cars finished on the dominant Dunlop tyres. In fact DUNLOP tyres were used by a whopping 62% of the field.
