Mitsubishi EVO IX of White, Salmon & Alexander

Damien White, Rod Salmon and Graham Alexander have won the 2008 WPS Bathurst 12 Hour aboard their SKWIRK.com Mitsubishi EVO IX.

The Team VIP Petfoods of Grant Denyer, Klark Quinn and Tony Quinn came in second outright in an identical Mitsubishi EVO IX.

Both cars made a dramatic tyre change shortly before the race, changing from their sponsored tyre to the ubiquitous DUNLOP DZ03G tyre .

This tyre, made famous for its domination of tarmac rallying, gave an immediate performance boost and allowed the cars to qualify and race ahead of the pack.

In fact the DUNLOP DZ03G tyre was the most popular choice of all cars in the epic race.
