No, we are not talking about bathurst! At the 2007 Mt Buller Sprint The outright performance of Dunlop Tarmac rally tyres was demonstrated, in both cold & wet conditions, as well as brilliant sunshine.

Queensland's Ray Vandersee and John Allen took the honours in their indecently quick Skelta-G Force. Klark Quinn and Linda Long had a very strong final day moving up to second position in their 2006 Mitsubishi Lancer Evo 8.5 RS, just beating Grant Denyer and Dale Moscatt in their LWR Subaru.

Tony Longhurst and South Australian Jahmeil Taylor, racing a 2007 Subaru Impreza WRX, continued their impressive weekend's performance to finish in 4th place with a time of 56m 20.57s.

Husband and wife team Neville and Michelle Shears finished in fifth place, in the process winning the 2007 Mountain Sprint Series title. Second placegetters for that title are Drew and Georgie Jorgensen, placed 11th outright in this event.

In 6th place was the second LWR entered Subaru of Brendan Reeves and sister Rhianon Smyth

Last year's outright winners of this event , Tasmania 's nephew and uncle duo of Jason and John White finished in tenth place, finally breaking the nine minute barrier in their final run with a time of 8m 54.07. Wet conditions in the first two stages affected their chances of reclaiming the title.

The dominance of Dunlop tyres for this form of competition has become more apparent over recent years. This year 62% of all cars chose the DUNLOP tyres. In fact, of the top 20 cars on the final day, nineteen were fitted with DUNLOP tyres.

Of cars surveyed, 62% were fitted with DUNLOP tyres (11% Bridgestone, 11% Yokohama, 9% Kumho, 6% Toyo)
