RMIT Formula SAE Team at Silverstone

RMIT Racing has won the FISITA Formula Student UK World Cup held at the Silverstone Grand Prix Circuit.

In what the team anticipated as perhaps its toughest challenge after the success of the past 18 months, RMIT Racing finished a comprehensive 36.6 points ahead of its nearest challenger, Delft University of Technology. In third place was The University of Stuttgart with 876 points.

The FISITA Formula Student UK Crown extends what has been an immensely successful period for the RMIT Racing Formula SAE Team. A European Championship in the Formula Student Event in 2004, runners up in the 2004 Formula SAE Australasia Event, followed by a win in the FSAE Detroit Event in May 2006, runners up in the California FSAE Event in June 2006, and a win in the Formula SAE Australasia Event in December 2006 paints an impressive picture of RMIT Racing's success.

The Formula Student event started on a positive note for the team, with a competitive showing in the Cost Event on Friday. This was backed up with an equal fourth place in the Presentation Event that evening; with Steve Todkill doing an outstanding job.
