News & Info » Apr-2006 Dunlop tyres win Grand Prix Double
Beaumont and Runnalls in their Mitsubishi
Following a long string of tarmac rally wins, Dunlop tyres have just taken out the Grand Prix Tarmac double; the Clipsal 500 Rally in Adelaide (replacing the original Adelaide GP Rally) and the Grand Prix Rally in Melbourne.
Taking out the Clipsal 500 Rally were Doug Lehmann and Philip McLeay in their Mitsubishi Evo VI. Second in a Fraser Clubman were Peter Mackie and Alyson Eigner. Both cars used the ubiquitous Dunlop DZ02G.
Winning the Grand prix Rally were Geoff beaumont and Ross Runnalls in their Mitsubishi Evo VI, and taking out the Classic section were Gavin Strongman and Phil Nicholas in their Datsun 260Z. Both cars using Dunlop tyres naturally.
Interestingly, not only were both the winning Evos using the ubiquitous Dunlop tyres, but both were from the same workshop: Jeff beaumont's TECH SPORT.
