Broadbent & Goedheer Porsche

Victorian competitors Rex Broadbent and Michael Goedheer (1974 Porsche 911 RS #577) have created a piece of motor sport history by taking victory in the 2005 Classic Adelaide - the pair's fourth successive win in the event.

"All victories are sweet and I can't say this one has been any better than the others', said an elated Broadbent after the event.

Broadbent paid tribute to Jim Richards for his great result and also praised Kevin Weeks who crashed out of the event while running in second place.

The four time Classic Adelaide champion said he considered his Dunlop tyres to have been partly responsible for the victory.

As for next year, Broadbent said he would love to come back to defend his title once again, but it depended on budget.

In second position this year was Jim Richards (Vic) and co-driver Barry Oliver (Tas) in a 1988 Porsche Turbo Cup (#704) one minute and 22 seconds behind the winner.

This year's second place result for the multiple Targa Tasmania winning team of Richards/Oliver in some way compensates for their campaign in last year's Classic Adelaide when they struck mechanical problems in the early stages.

Third on the road and first in their section (Classic) were Rick Bates and Jenny Brittain (1973 Porsche 911 #451) who completed the event 2 minutes 24 seconds behind the victor.

Section positions were as follows:
