Rex Broadbent and co-driver Michael Goedheer in a 1974 Porsche 911 RS have won the 2004 Classic Adelaide for the third time. Like the last two years, Rex and Michael equipped their Porsche with the Dunlop DZ02G tyres.

'Three times is beyond my wildest dreams' said the elated Broadbent after the Hutt Street finish and traditional champagne spray. The competition was awesome and it has been a tough year.'

Taking third position in their first Classic Adelaide was V8 Supercar driver Steven Richards and Gerry Bashford in their 1971 Ford Escort RS 1600 also on Dunlop tyres. The Bathurst winner said that he was a little surprised at how seriously the leading contenders take the event, but said that Broadbent had done a great job with good knowledge of the roads.

"This result cements the Dunlop DZ02G as the dominant tyre in Australian tarmac rallying" said Distributor Russell Stuckey. "our tyres are not only being used by the majority of serious competitors, but are winning events and gaining outstanding results."
