Congratulations to Peter and Chris Montgomery for winning the AKADEMOS Rally, the first round of the 2004 Vic rally championship. Driving with the disadvantage of an overheating engine, the Montgomerys took full advantage of their Dunlop SP85-R rally tyres and finished with a winning margin of 2min 12sec. This now places them in the lead position on the 2004 points table.

Next event on the calendar is the Bega Valley Motors rally June 13th. Said Peter Montgomery: "We all look forward to Bega and the ultra fast open roads." What he didn't explain was that he will now have the added advantage of Dunlop's newer rally tyre, the DZ86R for Bega. Developed by Dunlop's motorsport facility in Japan, the new tyre has been tested in Japan, England, Australia and New Zealand and has shown a big advantage over the opposition. Bring on Bega!
