Once again Dunlop tyres have proven their superior performance in Targa Tasmania. In this year's event the top 3 cars in the Classic category have been wearing Dunlops!
First place in 2004 goes to Nick Ellis and Tracey williams in their 1980 Ford Escort RS2000 (pictured left).
Nick and Tracey used the Dunlop Formula-R D01J which proved decisive in the fast and treacherous conditions in this year's Targa.
Nick reports:
"We have used these tyres for the past 3 years and and absolutely swear by them. The set we Won Targa on we also used in rally Tas. As per usual we expected it to be a very wet event. Going into day 5 we were met with hail, snow ant torrential rain. We were 4 minutes behind first place and decided to have a go, the Dunlops didn't let us down."
In second place were Bill Pye and Grant Geelan in their 1974 Porsche 911 Carrera 2.7 using a combination of D01J and DZ02G.
Third place was taken by Graham Copeland and Jon Siddins in their 1970 Datsun 240Z using Dunlop DZ02G tyres.
